March 14th Daily Discussion

Today (Saturday) we're in Romans 3:19-31.

It's all about FAITH. I read and then reread today's scripture passage several times. It really spoke to me. All I kept thinking was Why haven't I used this when I'm wanting to share Jesus with others? Uh, hello--why not grab a Bible and take them here? Think about it. This scripture lays out the gift of salvation beautifully. So moving forward, I've got a new, improved plan for telling people about Jesus and how faith in Him will change their life forever!! Tami W.

P.S. Try reading today's passage in a couple different translations. I did and it was really helpful. I think you might enjoy it.

Hi Tami-

I am reminded of a song as I read this passage. I think it is by Casting Crowns, but don't quote me on that one. It is entitled, "Who AM I?". The chorus is: Not because of who I am, But because of what You've done, Not because of what I've done, But because of who You are.

It really has nothing to do with me, but the key is everything about who and what God is. Because of His righteousness sake, His love and His covenant with man He sent Christ. Israel never kept their end of the covenant and Christians fail to keep their end of loving God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and loving their neighbor as themself. Yet God is faithful.

God has made it so simple, something that is attainable by mankind, a simple act of faith. Faith as tiny as a mustard seed can move a mountain. Matt 17:20 I've not spoken to a mountain and have seen it move. Though there have been mountains (figuratively speaking) in my life that have crumbled.

I don't understand the kind of love that would place itself in the line of torment, torture, hate, humiliation and a slow excrutiating death for the redemption of those who commit such crimes against the victim, (as it were). Christ certainly wasn't a victim since He willingly laid down His life. Though the vile dark heart of man was truly displayed in all of its ugliness.

While I may not fully understand that love, I certainly can have faith in it. That love will never abandon me or let me down. I don't have to understand it to receive it and place my faith in it. How could God have made it more simple. Mankind is certainly without excuse. As far as I can see, God placed it on a silver platter and said, "Here it is, partake of it." We can't blame Him if we don't reach out and grab it.

I am greatful He drew me to His Son and I latched on to Him. Now I trust Him to hold onto me. John 6:44 Jude 1:24 John 10:28 Now, this gift of redemption and reconciliation is free, what I do with this precious gift becomes my gift to Him. How do I know what to do with it unless I am faithful to study His word? The gift of P4 is a wonderful aid in doing that. Thank you for Powered by 4.

Good Morning Tami, By the way thank you very much for this blog comments ( outlet ) for us. I truly appreciate it. When you said: So moving forward, I've got a new, improved plan for telling people about Jesus and how faith in Him will change their life forever!!
I read the passage again to try to understand and perceive the improved plan. Could you help me a little?
Maybe its just me, but when each of us read, we receive something a little different. As God speaks to us through His written word, some of the words just jump out at us like never before.
Giving us a deeper understanding, enlightening us specifically for what we need today. Is this where you are going? I specifically, am trying to learn how to communicate in a better way with my loved ones about the Saving Grace of The Lord. I want them to know him as I know him. But, even as I say that I am thinking that each of us is different and wonderfully made, and get to know Him individually in our own way. By Faith we believe and confess. For me it wasn’t just saying the words of confession. It came from the Heart, I truly wanted his help and totally ( sold out ) commented my life to Jesus. When The Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus we want to used to help them understand. My wife tells me sometimes: Your not their Holy Spirit. In my heart I want each one of them set free. I Hope I didn’t ramble on too much. This subject is very important to me.
