As we turn to the weekend we're heading back into the Psalms. For Saturday, we're reading Psalm 42. I'm guessing you're familiar with Psalm 42 because of the first verse that talks about the deer panting for water. But I'm going to focus on another part of this chapter. I want to talk about verses 5 and 11 that say, "Why are you so downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me?"

I don't always like letting people know that I'm downcast, struggling or depressed. I think that's because I convince myself that after all, I am a Christian and that means I should be great all the time and then I feel like I need to put on the "happy face" for the world. That's why I like Psalm 42 so much. Because it shows me that I'm going to struggle--and then clearly lays out that the Lord is always my answer. Both verse 5 and 11 tell us to put our hope in God. So if you're feeling down today, remember that the Lord is there and you can draw on Him. Command your soul to put your hope in God!

God is so good but sometimes when we're in the middle of a tough time we focus so much on the thing that's got us down that we forget to draw on God. So here's my challenge for you today. Take out a piece of paper and list the good things God has done for you over the years--not just the big things, but the small ones too. (I think you'll be surprised at just how long that list is.) Then, use that list as a reminder that God is your Rock and your Hope. One more thing, if you're up for it, how about sharing a few of those good things from God with us? I'd sure like to hear from you. Tami W.

This morning, as I checked the financial statis on our records it was not in the positive. I, however new God was stronger than the negative balance in my life to purify an inspirational focus on my financial focus through your prayers and others. The Lord brought a hymm to my heart and the focus became a joyful spark for the rest of the day. Yes, the battle belongs to the Lord: one of those great hymms. The grass withers the flowers fade but the word of our God stands forever; Isaiah 40:8.

Hi Tami,

Welcome to Jamaica!

Just one of the "small" things that God helped me with: I went to Dunn's River Falls (I hope you get a chance to visit there) in July. While I was climbing the Falls I slipped and fell and my tested glasses fell off my face and disappeared! I searched frantically, but couldn't find them. I decided to finish climbing without them.

On my way back down, I was praying: "Lord, please help me find my glasses" A little voice in my head said "You have already looked everywhere, you are not going to find them". A stronger voice said "Return to the last place you look". I obeyed this voice, and while walking in the murky waters, something brushed against my foot. I bent down and waded around. There were my glasses! All I could say was "Thank You, God!!!"

God is good, all the time!

Enjoy your stay in Jamaica. I was a pleasure to see you, Dr. Kroll, Linda, your sister and the rest of the crew on Nov 20 at the Swallowfield Chapel.

Where God helpt me. Yesterday morning when I came to work, (sins I'm working at a Chicken Farm,) I do have to use a outside Feed Hupper, to fill up the inside Hupper with Feed, and becouse it is Winter here, and it was -16c. The Pipe what leads the Feed to the inside Hupper was all froozen, and I couldn't do anything about it. I had to use a outside heater, but the heater was out of fuel. There was obsolutely nothing I could do. But I had to feed those Chicken, about 4500 of them. And then a small voice told me, to go an turn on that switch, it will work.
As I turned on that switch, Ice was crumbling out of the pipe, big chunks of ice, there was no problem, it worked.
And I knew, that only JESUS Him self was it, who crumbled that Ice. Becouse there was nobody else around me, sins I'm the only employee. My Husband was at his work.
You are right, I turned the switch of, and then I fell on my knee's can you imagen the thick filty floor with covered full of feed dust, I didn't care. Jesus needed to hear my Thanks and Praise.
That is how I know it works in my own life, Jesus IS the only one who can crush Satan unter His feet, Halleluja. Praise God.

Thank you for the blogs, for each days 4X4 both my wife and I really look forward to reading God's word and to mediate on His goodness, and faithfulness. Only Jesus Christ can solve all our problems and circumstances, heal our broken heartness, and saves us from so much in this world. What a Savior, and Lord and we cannot wait to join Jesus and all the saints who have gone ahead of us and are in perfectness and able to see Jesus and worship him in person.
